What is World Patient Safety Day?
Happy World Patient Safety Day! Founded in 2015 by the German Coalition for Patient Safety, the Swiss Foundation for Patient Safety, and the Austrian Platform for Patient Safety, this initiative seeks to present effective solutions to improve the quality and safety of health care.
Last year, the World Health Organization endorsed World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) to “increase public awareness and engagement, enhance global understanding, and spur global solidarity and action to promote patient safety.” 2020 has presented more obstacles in healthcare than normal, so it’s only fitting that this year’s WPSD’s theme is “Health Worker Safety: A Priority for Patient Safety”.
The campaign provides information and hosts activities related to general healthcare practices including teaching patients how to contribute to their own safety. This year, WPSD’s worldwide campaigns focus on creating a safety culture at all levels of an organization of healthcare workers.
When it comes to patient safety and security, Pandia Health has you covered. Who else would you want in charge of your healthcare than a team of empowered, intelligent doctors? Our team of expert doctors ensures patient safety and the best possible care. Dr. Sophia Yen, the CEO and co-founder of Pandia, promises confidentiality, convenience, and care to her patients.
High quality care is a key part of WPSD campaigns each year, and this year is no different. Nationwide, an average of 134 million adverse events occur annually due to failures of patient safety measures, and this contributes to 2.6 million deaths .
Additionally, these patient care safety failures make up to 15% of hospital visit fees and expenses. For any patient harm occurring in primary and ambulatory settings, 80% could have been avoided with updated and successful patient safety protocol.
Patient Safety in Light of COVID-19
COVID-19 raises the stakes even more. As more people find themselves sick and in need of professional medical care, it becomes harder and harder for hospital providers around the world to comply with all safety measures. And on top of caring for patients, they now have to worry about their own risk of exposure and how that might affect their families and loved ones.
To all the healthcare workers out there reading this blog right now, thank you! We appreciate all your sacrifice, dedication, and compassion in these uncertain times.
We all know that COVID-19 has led to a lot more lounging around at home than usual, but what about the annual doctor’s check ups and pharmacy runs? Those still need to happen in person…right?
Well, not necessarily. Now, more than ever, being able to take care of essential errands from home is so important, not to mention safer for your health. Asynchronous telemedicine is becoming more and more popular – with virtual doctor’s consults and medications delivered straight to your door, Pandia Health is at the forefront of women’s reproductive health and birth control delivery.
How Does It Work?

We also include other goodies like Hi-Chews, emergency contraception, and informational leaflets on reproductive health! From the doctor’s consultation to your doorstep, we’ve got you taken care of – protecting you and your doctor’s health and safety while giving you the care you need.
Ready to get started? If you live in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MI, NV, TX, TN, PA, WA, or WY our expert doctors can write you a prescription and have our pharmacy send it to your doorstep from the comfort of their own homes.
